Hi! I’m Serenity Joy.

Also known as Shannon Joy, I’m born and raised in Baltimore, MD, refined in Brooklyn, NY my work exists at the intersection of media, wellness and social justice.

I specialize in writing and producing narratives that center joy, healing, transformation and sensuality while also marketing documentaries with a radical social justice lens.

A community organizer by nature, I co-founded House of Ease an art collective, production house and refuge for Black creatives with an emphasis on media, wellness and mutual aid.

My portfolio also boasts commercial collaborations with brands like AT&T, Proctor & Gamble, Nationwide and more.

When I'm not working behind the scenes, you can find me teaching Kemetic Yoga or writing short stories.

I center three elements in my life and work: patience, simplicity and compassion.
